Objective: Direct cardiac compression using helical bands is demonstrated in this video.
Methods: Two reciprocal helical bands enabled rotation and apex-to-base shortening of the heart.
Results: This method actuated the heart to pump in a robust manner without obstructing multi-modality imaging.
Conclusions: Reciprocal helices provide an effective means of direct cardiac compression.
